You all may know I have a toddler. I also have another blog that I still maintain for reviews and giveaways and such.. this week I had to do a review of an awesome bicycle light. I had to do a photo shoot for the review to demonstrate how it looks and such. I decided to use the toddler bike for a trial.
The toddler was very interested in this of course, and there was much unhappiness as I installed it, because she knew what I was doing and she wanted it NOW. The photos amused me, and didn’t all end up in the review…she will be enjoying the light now though…
Lumenz bike light and toddler
I would like to think that as a professional environmental, health and safety professional, I had a relatively green pregnancy. As you may know, I currently have a lovely and sassy toddler on my hands. I have been fortunate enough to stay home with her, and make some income freelancing and blogging. One of my favorite topics is of course- her. But I also had a time when it was about me and trying to keep it green.
Today, for Wordless Wednesday, hot off the presses we have our cute daughter playing in a laundry basket. This has been the source of endless hours of play and I am a fan.
So, I wrote a post about the places I shopped to buy my eco friendly business cards. It occurred to me that you may want to research the companies yourself, OR you may have other companies to consider. But perhaps you do not know what would differentiate one option from another.

Here are my thoughts on things to look for when shopping for eco friendly business cards-

I needed eco friendly business cards.
I will be the first to admit that business cards are not the most friendly things on the planet. When you think about how they are used, they are not really meant for long lasting effects or usage. However, after being in the professional world for over 15 years, I have realized that they are a necessity for business.
Prefold diaper to Mama Cloth Tutorial
So by now, you may have read my post on my mama cloth experience. You are now overstocked with prefold diapers and are thinking that they would make great mama cloth, and you would be right! You need a mam cloth tutorial.
I have been cloth diapering since my daughter was born. We use a combination of flats, prefolds and other liners stuffed into primarily Flip diapers- you can read more about our set up here.
I also started using limited mama cloth when I was post partum. If you have had a baby you may have less than fond memories of the days, and weeks of bleeding that follows a birth. Mine lasted QUITE a long time (sorry tmi.) I do not care for wearing plastic and paper pads for days on end. I get irritation and frankly they stick to you. I was happy that I had the foresight to grab a few postpartum cloth pads before the baby was born. They were my favorite. They were huge, rarely leaked and I loved them. They did not irritate my delicate postpartum bits and I was so happy to have them. I ended up washing them often, and I will say, even after a lot of use they still look great. The problem was that they were kind of expensive.
Hey bloggers! Looking to monetize?
I belong to a few affiliate programs like Shareasale and I have found them to be very helpful in generating some income and additional blog traffic to monetize my site. There are a few ways that the links can be added to your site and each blog will perform differently depending on the readers and the ad mix, but there is on thing that is clear:
People love deals.
I love deals..
Two programs that have been very helpful to me are Reebok and Tea Collection. Both of these vendors send out frequent creative emails that you can use, or you can generate your own. They often include bonuses for bloggers for posting, sharing and helping to recruit new bloggers. They send out loads of coupons for the readers (and us) as well as ideas for posts we can create on our own. We get advanced notice for our readers. The sample blog posts and creative ideas will usually include the links with your affiliate code in it so you don’t have to worry about searching for that every time. Just cut and paste, and add your spin to the whole deal.
None of them ever require anything or change the way you blog. When you sign up for these programs you will also have access to a ton more of sponsors. The terms are spelled out clearly in the application, and it takes just a few minutes to get set up.
It is all as much as you care to do, and the incentives are really quite enticing!
Take a look and see for yourself:
Joining programs like these are what have turned my blogging income from pennies a day to much more ( not a ton, but I am just revving up.)
