#BringBackOurGirls Year in Review

#BringBackOurGirls Year in Review

Well, we are at the end of 2014, and as we reflect on the year in review, we discover that they still did not #BringBackOurGirls.

I see little positive in the news about them. I see nothing about negotiations or attempts to save them. I see nothing really of any purpose.

I did see an article here and there that recaps the year’s top stories. They talk about the hashtag campaign. They talk about failed efforts. The year in review is not good for the Chibok girls.

I also saw that there were more kidnappings this month. More killings. More violence. And there does not seem to be anything to stop it. There is no one that can lead this cause apparently.

So my year in review, is that the terrorists are winning the war against education in Nigeria. It is sad, it is maddening and I feel like nothing we have done has helped them at all.

Only time will tell I suppose, but as the days go on, and we approach a year of captivity- will the girls be free?

Let us make that our New Year’s Resolution.

#BringBackOurGirls, Day 250

We are looking at 250 days now. We did not #BringBackOurGirls.

We have nothing in the news. We have no stories to report. The hope is fading. I still care about this story. I still think often of the girls and wish that this had never happened to them.. that they could be studying for exams, planning holidays, planning anything at all besides what they must be facing now.

We still have not forgotten you.
