More Nigeria Terror

nigeria

I have not forgotten you my dear readers, nor the Chibok girls. ┬áIt is a new year, and the terrorists are just expanding seemingly daily. I saw on Huffington Post that they massacred a village this week. (Don’t bother checking CNN or BBC on this one, they seem to have missed it.. )

Here is an excerpt from the article:

“District head Baba Abba Hassan said most victims are children, women and elderly people who could not run fast enough when insurgents drove into Baga, firing rocket-propelled grenades and assault rifles on town residents.”

It is amazing to me that the world is not in arms about this. I get sick to my stomach thinking about the horrors that these terrorists are bringing to this area of the world. There really seems to be no stopping them in Nigeria. I have to wonder how far they are going to go. I don’t even want to think about this.

It really sickens me that it isn’t even in the news. I would have missed it entirely if a friend hadn’t posted a FB link today. Maybe it was on the news yesterday and I missed it, but I don’t see it anywhere else today.

A group of people that would purposely target those that are least likely to fight them feels so cowardly and ridiculous to me.

Fight an armed opponent? Ok. I feel like maybe there is something there. But slaughtering innocents and those that can’t defend themselves is just wrong on so many more levels.

I am not saying any of this is right. It is all wrong to me. I just feel so hopeless for this area, and what it suggests for their future. I certainly feel hope is gone for the girls.

Anyone have anything positive to shed on this story? Please share in the comments.

And as always, remember the girls. Even if they aren’t coming back. We can keep sharing #BringBackOurGirls
