Hey bloggers! Looking to monetize?
I belong to a few affiliate programs like Shareasale and I have found them to be very helpful in generating some income and additional blog traffic to monetize my site. There are a few ways that the links can be added to your site and each blog will perform differently depending on the readers and the ad mix, but there is on thing that is clear:
People love deals.
I love deals..
Two programs that have been very helpful to me are Reebok and Tea Collection. Both of these vendors send out frequent creative emails that you can use, or you can generate your own. They often include bonuses for bloggers for posting, sharing and helping to recruit new bloggers. They send out loads of coupons for the readers (and us) as well as ideas for posts we can create on our own. We get advanced notice for our readers. The sample blog posts and creative ideas will usually include the links with your affiliate code in it so you don’t have to worry about searching for that every time. Just cut and paste, and add your spin to the whole deal.
None of them ever require anything or change the way you blog. When you sign up for these programs you will also have access to a ton more of sponsors. The terms are spelled out clearly in the application, and it takes just a few minutes to get set up.
It is all as much as you care to do, and the incentives are really quite enticing!
Take a look and see for yourself:
Joining programs like these are what have turned my blogging income from pennies a day to much more ( not a ton, but I am just revving up.)
If you haven’t noticed, I have started a new blog this week! YAHOO! I have received some new support from Bluehost and I couldn’t be more pleased. (I am about to write up a new post about the process,so keep you eyes peeled for that one!)
I am toying with the idea of keeping my old site active, and running different content on each, but I am not sure if I will have the bandwidth to keep it up.
My thought is to keep most of my reviews and giveaways on the old site where I have a lot of that kind of traffic, and then keeping this more as a content driven site with more focus on green parenting. I am not sure how that is going to work in terms of monetizing. Although the content side of this is pretty easy to work with, the sponsors and affiliates and some of the other logistics confuse me a little bit.
I also have no idea about the affiliates- do I just start promoting on this site? Or will I need to notify them? SOOO many little details:) New blogs are fun though.
For those of you that have gone from blogger to a hosted page, did you keep the old site? Were you happy with two sites to manage?
I don’t want to bring everything over with me, I have so many things that were timely, and it doesn’t make sense to bring it. I am kind of picking and choosing what I like and just gradually disabling it on the old site.
Hopefully you will enjoy the new effort. I think I picked a pretty flexible layout, so my possibilities are endless! I suspect I will be playing with the new colors and layouts and such until I love it:)
